“The Black Hole (1979)” Drinks

This time we’re making up adult beverages to tie into “classic” children’s movie The Black Hole, because nothing says kids movie like Ernie Borgnine and Robert Forster! Right? Hello?

Please forgive me for hiding you in the back Blue Curacao.

Shot: Black Hole. Yeah, we were THAT inspired.

1oz black sambuca, dash each blue curaçao and pomegranate liqueur. Swirl it around and pretend you’re about to get sucked into another universe where this movie doesn’t exist.

Cocktail: B.O.B., after the robot voiced by Roddy McDowall. Or maybe it was the one Slim Pickens voiced. I can’t really be bothered to look it up at this point.

Fill a shaker with ice. Add 3oz Bourbon, 1oz Orange juice, and a dash of Bitters. (B-O-B, get it?) Shake and strain into an ice-filled Old Fashioned glass. Garnish with an orange wedge if you’re feeling especially saucy.

Way better than the movie.

In case you couldn’t pick up on my thinly veiled disdain for the movie, I’ll just say it: what a turd! Still, we had fun with it, and if you don’t believe me check out our podcast on The Black Hole!
