There can be only two!

Shot: The Kurgan, after the big, and I mean BIG, baddie of the film, who is mentioned in passing as being Russian, so…
1/2oz each vodka and black sambucca. (He’s also referred to as the black knight, we think.)
Cocktail: Highlander, the Scottish hero played by a Frenchman who is befriended by a Spaniard who is really Egyptian and played by a Scotsman. Make sense?
Fill an Old Fashioned glass with ice. Add 3oz blended Scotch, 1.5oz sweet vermouth (French if you got it), and a dash of bitters. Stir, and garnish with a cherry.

It’s a little hard to tell in the picture, but the shot layered naturally with some cautious pouring, and was totally unintentional. Of course when I actually TRY to layer a shot, it never works. As Ramirez would say, “Que shera, shera.” Check out all our thoughts on the movie, drinks, and much more on our Highlander podcast!
